Mila's Baptism: 5.5.2012

Mila was baptized on Cinco de Mayo this past week and it was such a beautiful ceremony and fun celebration! We cannot thank our family and friends enough for making the day so special. Mila was showered with gifts and we all just had so much fun catching up with everyone! Mila is so truly blessed to have such an amazing support system.

Mila was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church in a private ceremony with Father John. She was an ANGEL! No crying and she actually seemed to enjoy herself ?!? Her dress was a gift from Grandma Koester (thank you)!

Firsts!

Wow - sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Life is absolutey CRAZY busy with our incredibly mobile 7-month-old. She is all over the place and no matter how much we monitor her she always ends up by the cat food/eating the door stops/pulling the cat's tail/eating the tv remote controls/climbing her dresser drawers, etc. etc. etc. She is SO MUCH FUN but so exhausting : ) Also, Patrick and I are  hopefully-fingers crossed-buying our first home!!! We will keep you updated as things progress but we have found a beautiful house near Quail Run Elementary that we have placed an offer on. Hoping things fall into place!

These pictures are a little dark but nothing can describe the feeling of waking up to this little darling every morning! She is always so happy and excited to see Patrick and I. Happy Monday everyone (and if you are wondering why I'm in such a good mood it's because Mila slept until 7:10 am this morning). I have been dreaming of the 7's for a long time now and they finally came!

6 Month Updates and More!

ROCK CHALK!!!! Mila's first FINAL FOUR!

Mila had her 6 month appointment ( a little late) and all is well!

Weight: 15 lbs 6 oz; 27th percentile

Height: 25.5 inches; 28th percentile

Head Circ: 16.5 inches; 25th percentile

This month has definitely brought about the most changes in our little Mila. She started crawling and hasn't looked back since - the other morning I walked into her standing against the railing in her crib (OH MY)! Patrick and I have been scrambling to make our little apartment baby-friendly. It's amazing what she gets into - the other morning I loaded laundry and before I could count to 5 she had found the cat food!!! She is a wild woman! Her personality develops more and more every day and I'm already nervous for her teen years. She is a firecracker. Mila LOVES food and we haven't found much that she doesn't like - pears, spinach & avocado are some least favorites. She likes peas (surprisingly), sweet potato, squash, banana and blueberry. Mila loves making new sounds - "mamamama," and "bababababa," and even screams and growls! I swear a new sound comes out of that girl every day! Happy St. Patrick's Day & More!!!

Mila got to experience her first ever St. Patrick's Day Parade in Lawrence! I have such fond memories of watching Lawrence parades while I was growing up, I cannot wait for Mila to experience them as well! Although it was smack dab in the middle of nap time, we survived and she really seemed to enjoy watching all of the floats and people course. Such a fun and beautiful day!

6 Months Old!!!

Our beautiful baby girl is 6 MONTHS OLD! This is such a fun age! She has turned in to such a happy, smiley, always active and talkative girl. So far this month Mila has been....

sitting (very wobbly still)

getting up in crawl position but no crawls yet

rolling all over the place

her first tooth is poking through!

sleeping through the night (life is good)

eating cereal & oatmeal, carrots, squash, peas, prunes & bananas (so far she loves everything)

taking 3 naps a day

riding in her car seat without screaming for 30 minutes straight (again..life is good :)

Mila is so very active and loves her exersaucer and just rolling around on the floor. She is becoming more and more talkative every day and squeals with delight when she sees mom and dad and other family members. Her favorite toys are bowls and cups from the kitchen and my old Clean & Clear facial cleanser bottle (ohhh Mila). She LOVES drinking from a bottle and I dare anyone to come over to our house and try to take it from her hands while she is drinking (she is one strong baby girl). We have had fun comparing old photos of Mila with more recent ones - my how she has changed!
